Project Prom of Northern Nevada
ABOUT PROJECT PROM OF NORTHERN NEVADA
Project Prom of Northern Nevada is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to fostering inclusivity, joy, and empowerment within the developmentally disabled adult community through our annual prom event. Our mission is to provide a memorable and inclusive prom experience, celebrating the uniqueness and talents of each individual. We aim to create a safe and welcoming environment where participants can socialize, dance, and make cherished memories. Through our event, we strive to promote social integration, self-confidence, and a sense of belonging among individuals with developmental disabilities. Our commitment is to ensure that every attendee feels valued, respected, and celebrated for who they are. Together, we create moments of happiness and inspiration that last a lifetime.

We began as a Leadership Douglas County project under the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce in 2021 and have evolved into our own entity after determining a continued need in the community for such an event. The event and organization is fully funded through grants and donations made by our generous community partners and supporters. We are proud to say that 100% of the funds we receive go directly toward the prom event as the organization is ran by a board of directors made up of Douglas County residents who volunteer their time.
